Purchasing grapes from The Urban Vintners Association
Available Grapes
Due to the numerous variables within each contracted order, we cannot publish specific pricing on www.grapebrokers.net
Please and we will send you specific pricing and a tailored quote suited for your needs.
Minimum order for grapes (both fresh and frozen) is 10 tons (20 ft container). 40 ft containers are recommended to benefit from volume pricing. Varietals can be combined to fulfil order quantity. Fresh grape varietals however, cannot be combined with frozen must orders due to processing variances.
All grape orders (fresh or frozen) are payable in three payments. The first (5% deposit) is due at time of order. Second payment (65%) is due when order is confirmed; this is generally in July or early August prior to that year’s harvest. The final payment (balance of 30%) is due at harvest time. This is generally mid September. Orders will not be considered final and shipments will not be released until full payments are received. Contract negotiations commence only after acceptance of these terms of sale.
In the unlikely event that there are insufficient grapes to satisfy an existing order, The Urban Vintners Association may, at the clients discretion, refund monies paid or apply funds to other grapes. Some grapes may be harvested at higher sugar levels. The buyer understands that this condition does exist. High sugar is not grounds for objecting to the grapes’ overall quality.
All grapes are priced FOB port at receiving destination (your country). Please note that grapes are an agricultural product and are subject to price variation and availability. Pre-harvest visits are scheduled in Europe by government officials and obtaining the best harvest timing is judged by our discretion. All our frozen must offerings are provided with government certification and grape specifications including: PH, Brix, Specific gravity, and TA measures.
Please note that it is not possible to predict the exact date of harvest and availability of container(s) for shipment. Shipping charges are subject to change without notice. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that we receive adequate information to bypass customs when grapes reach your country’s port. The Urban Vintners Association’s responsibility for the integrity of the product ends once grapes arrive to your local port, unless arrangements are made for door-to-door service. If grapes/juice are delivered in unsatisfactory condition: all defects, losses, any damage must be written on the Bill of Lading, or Air Waybill, acknowledged and signed by the driver or airline agent, and notification provided to The Urban Vintners Association within 24 hours.
Preferred method of payment: EMT (Electronic Money Transfer).
PACKAGING FOR FRESH GRAPE ORDERS
Fresh Black & Whites Grapes are sold in 11kg (24.2 lbs) lugs as whole bunches with stems. Total of 1,770 lugs per 40’ container. Stem weight is calculated at 6%. Each 100 lb. of grapes will yield 94 pounds after they are de-stemmed. Arrangements for de-stemming grapes should be made with your local grape distributor.

White Frozen Juices are bunch pressed and 190 litres (50 U.S. gallons) of cold-settled juice is frozen in 220 litre polyethylene drums. After fermentation and gross-lees racking, yield is over 181 litres (48+ U.S. gallons) of wine. White Frozen Juices can also be frozen in polyethylene drums in a volume of 27 litres to yield approximately 22.7 litres (6 U.S. gallons) of finished wine.
